Marble head representing Diadumene, an athlete wearing a ribbon around his forehead, the “stefanos”, as a sign of his victory at the Olympic Games. Made by the Greek sculptor Polyclète , this sculpture is one of the sculptures that follow the canon established by Polyclète for the ideal proportion of the male human figure, according to which the total height of the statue is one to seven times the height of his head. Circa 1920. Height 28cm x width 22cm x depth 17cm.
